Time is Going to Pass Anyway

Time, the funny thing about time is that we think we have a lot of it, or we think we don’t have enough of it. I watched a couple of things over the past few days that had me reflecting on my time. Why is it that some of us put life on pause because we think we have enough time to get certain things done and then there are a few of us who feel like we don’t have enough time? So we then press forward in pursuit of all the things we think we should have done by now and have anxiety because we need to have things done by this time frame. Who told you that?

I grew up believing that 25 was a magical age where I would be married with 3 children living in a bomb house with a pool. I didn’t even know who I was at 25!! I remember wanting to be an actress for Disney and I cried one day because I was watching something, and the girl said she had been working on her craft since she was 4 and I was like 12 years old! I believed at that time that I was way too old to pursue this dream. It was dumb! The devil is so crafty with how he places thoughts in your head that will have you believing that you can’t pursue purpose! But the bible is full of stories of people who didn’t achieve purpose until late in life. Abraham left his family to pursue what God told him at 75?! Sara had her son at 90! Jesus was approximately 30 when he started ministry and did more in 3 years than we could ever do in a lifetime. The homie Moses was 80 years old when God called him! We are out here acting like God doesn’t know how to be God and functioning like we can control time, when the only thing we have control over is CHOICE? We don’t know how much time we have but we have the freedom to choose to make the most of the time we have! This week…I wasted time.  I slumped into a depressive state and I don’t even know why…. That’s a lie. I do. God has called me to do many great things and it TERRIFIES me. The more he reveals to me about my future the more I’m compelled to crawl back into a place of being still but I KNOW I don’t want that for my life. I know for sure I want to BE and DO EVERY SINGLE THING God has called me to but that means I must EXCEPT being out of my comfort zone. That comfort zone will FAIL you every time! But we have to get out of that place because GROWTH does not reside there! Joy is on the other side of your comfort if you would just be willing to take a leap of faith. Don’t just take a chance on you I dare you to take a CHANCE on God. You owe it to yourself! Eric Bellinger quoted this book on the Terrell Show and it has just stuck with me “Don’t give up on something because of the time that it’s going to take something to happen because the time will pass anyway.”

Time is going to pass any way! So why not just TRY! You never know what the outcome is going to be but if you stay consistent, I guarantee you will learn something about yourself even if you just learn what you don’t want to do. You can cross that off and pursue something else. You owe it to you to LIVE! I mean if this pandemic has taught me nothing else is to MAXIMIZE MOMENTS!

So how do you choose to live your life today?

I’m choosing to LIVE no matter how hard it gets….I owe it to me to not quit on myself and more importantly I owe it to the one who gave me life!

Until next Time!
