365 days later…

Last year around this time I was grieving. I was depressed and angry if I’m honest. On January 30^th, 2020, I lost one of my favorite people in the whole world, my Granny. She was everything! If you let her tell it she raised me and I was HER child! LOL Our bond was like no other. We talked often on the telephone about her days growing up and raising NINE children! I still can’t understand how they survived with ONE bathroom smh. I miss her! So, it was even more special to me that a year later on that same day I would be shooting something to officially re-launch this site.

The crazy thing is I didn’t even plan it. It was just a convenient day because of the other things that were going on and then on top of that, we were shooting in some of the pieces from the Black Beyond Measure Collection from Target. It just felt like God’s hand was on it and everything that I was doing in that moment was reinforcing God’s identity for me. God is amazing like that! He knows how to orchestrate the affairs of our day to have us encounter moments, people, or things we need. He loves me like that.  He loves you like that!

See the metamorphosis that has taken place in a year is an exact result of me letting God love me. I let God orchestrate the broken pieces of my life and through His marvelous work, he changed me. I think sometimes we look at people in their happy place and think they were always like this. Which honestly is the truth. The best version of you is locked on the inside of you. It’s hidden under all of the things people told you should be or how you should act. We have to do the work in order to discover it. We have to become vulnerable with God in order for him to come in and heal us. Isaiah 41:10 says

“Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

That “I am YOUR God” get’s me every time. It’s personal. He is serious about YOU! He has plans for YOU! He will strengthen YOU! IF you let him. It’s the dopest experience when you allow God to be God in your life. Take it from me! God has been showing out in my life!

I am so excited for you to see the video. I am so excited for you all to see what is coming up in the future! I pray that it blesses you the way it blesses me. Take the time to celebrate this month! Not just because it’s Black History Month but because YOU DESERVE to be celebrated! Don’t wait on anybody else to tell you you’re great or to approve what God told you, you can do. God’s approval is TRULY the only one that matters.
